Did You Know?
Bariloche is best known for its vast array of outdoor persuits and for its amazing scenery of mountains and lakes. The Llao Llao resort, the Catedral Ski area and the Nahuel Huapi National Park are all true icons of Patagonia.
Technology, however, runs deep in the veins of this beautiful town! Hundreds of talented scientists and engineers nurture institutions like INVAP and the Balseiro Institute, designing and constructing satellites, radars and radioactive isotopes for medical applications. Nano-tech, communications and a research nuclear reactor are also part of this Patagonian tech paradise.
New Boat in Nahuel Huapi
Despite the current World wide pandemic crisis, we remain hopeful and continue preparations for future Bariloche Lake touring and boat charter services. A new Yacht was launched to better suit family groups or couples seeking a private boat charter or fishing tour in Nahuel Huapi National Park. It is a 30 foot day cruiser that can operate year round to explore the stunning lake and access Isla Victoria. SUP and bikes can easily be trasported on Calypso as well in order to offer multi-activity packed services.
Catedral Ski Resort opens for locals!
As of July 21st, 2020, the largest ski area in South America is open to Bariloche and Patagonia skiers who have purchased the season pass.
This is welcome news as we are expecting another Polar front this week that will add to the existing close to record massive snow pack this winter!
COVID-19 Protocols
The Patagonia Adventure Tourism Asociacion (ATAP) has been working on a draft document including Covid-19 protocols for various outdoor activities. This is currently being reviewed by the local government and Park’s authorities, and ATAP is hoping to get a green light for the upcomming Spring and Summer seasons.
